About us

Jeff Konfara

Meet Jeff

My name is Jeff Konfara, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Holland, MI, and serving the entire State of Michigan via telehealth services. I provide counseling services to individuals, couples, and families, and have been doing so for approximately 15 years. Over the last four years I have specialized in early childhood trauma, leading a trauma assessment team consisting of a psychologist, social worker, occupational therapist, and a nurse. Earlier in my counseling career I worked primarily with individuals and couples who struggled with anxiety, depression, and addiction. I have taught counseling in a college setting, and supervised beginning level counselors.

Lindsey and I have been married for 17 years, and we have four boys. As you can likely imagine, our house has a lot of energy, and a lot of bumps and bruises from running into walls or playing football outside! Coaching my boys in youth sports is one of my greatest joys. I love spending time with my wife and boys; collectively we are trying to visit all 50 states, and we only have two remaining. When I am not at work or with my family, I enjoy hiking out to Lake Michigan.

So now you know a little bit about what I value; I look forward to hearing from you so I can learn what you value…and then help you align your values with how you live life.

Meet Sarah

My name is Sarah Schemper, and I’m a licensed counselor in the state of Michigan. I have experience working with individuals and couples, and my passion lies in helping people examine their current interpersonal functioning to discover patterns, identify values, and learn skills and strategies to help them identify and achieve their goals.

Looking through an attachment-focused and interpersonal lens, I believe that our “issues” and pain are the result of our relationships with others, and that relationships are then also the key to healing. The best thing about counseling is it provides us the opportunity to examine our experiences and their impacts on our current pain with someone who is seeking primarily to make us feel seen, safe, soothed, and secure (which in itself can be a life-changing experience). I have learned first-hand how strong the mind-body connection is, and how powerfully painful anxiety can be.

When working with couples (parent-child, spouse, etc.), I hold this concept of each individual in mind—each with their own unique experiences and skills—and begin to focus on the communication between the two. I believe that everyone has a desire to feel cherished, loved, and understood, but we often can’t see past the other’s attempts to get there.

While I’ve lived in three different countries (Canada, Liberia, and the US), and three different states (including Iowa and California), Michigan is my home! I have been married to my husband, Greg, for over twenty years, and we have recently begun launching daughter number one out into the world, with one remaining at home. While it doesn’t feel like it was that long ago that I myself entered college, my children assure me it’s been a while. I feel most alive when I’m connecting well and meaningfully with others or organizing my home or a party (or my home for a party)!

I commit to supporting you through the journey of discovering more about yourself and improving your relationships!
